Question :-

Represent \sqrt{5} on number line

Answer :-

Step 1 :- Draw a number line .

Step 2 :- Mark two units from "0"

Step 3 :- Draw a line segment equal to 1 unit from point marked in previous step

mark it's end let it be point A

Step 4 :- from "0" to point "A" draw a line segment

Step 5 :- this line segment "0" to A =  \sqrt{5}

unit as 0 -2- A forms a right angle triangle with height = 1 unit and base = 2 unit

Then by applying Pythagorean equation

Hypotenuse = √5 unit

Step 6:- by using a compass , keeping it's pointed end at "0" and pencils end at A draw a curve from A which intersect number line at B

Hence the point B is the located √5 on number line
