Given :  4sin^{-1} x +  cos^{-1}x =  \pi

= \ \textgreater \  4 sin^{-1} x =  \pi  -  cos^{-1} x

= \ \textgreater \   4sin^{-1} x =  \pi - ( \frac{ \pi }{2} -  sin^{-1} x)

= \ \textgreater \  4 sin^{-1} =   \frac{ \pi }{2} +  sin^{-1} x

= \ \textgreater \  4 sin^{-1} x -  sin^{-1} x =  \frac{ \pi }{2}

= \ \textgreater \  3 sin^{-1} x =  \frac{ \pi }{2}

= \ \textgreater \   sin^{-1} x =  \frac{ \pi }{6}

= \ \textgreater \  x = sin \frac{ \pi }{6}

= > x = 1/2

Hope this helps!
