= (100 + 8) x ( 100 - 8)
Using the identity a² - b² = (a + b)( a - b)
= 100² - 8²
= 10000 - 64
= 9936

2) 306 x 294
= (300 + 6) x (300 - 6)
Using the identity a² - b² = (a + b)( a - b)
= 300² - 6²
= 90000 - 36
= 89964

3) 14.7 x 15.3
= ( 15 - 0.3) x ( 15 + 0.3)
Using the identity a² - b² = (a + b)( a - b)
= 15² - 0.3²
= 225 - 0.09
= 224.91
