let unit place digit= y
ten's place digit= x
sum of the digits=12
x+y=12---(1)
original number= 10x+y
traversing the number= 10y+x
twice the original number - reversing number=12
2(10x+y)-(10y+x)=12
20x+2y-10y-x=12
19x-8y=12--(2)
multiply (1) with 8 and subtract from (2)
you get
27x=108
x=108/27
x=4
substitute x=4 in (1) you get y=8
therefore
original number = 10x+y
=10×4+8
=48
