Answer:

 \alpha  -  \beta  =   \frac{ \sqrt{d} }{a}  = 2 \\  \\  =  \frac{ \sqrt{ {8}^{2}  - 4k} }{1}  = 2 \\  \\  =  > 64 - 4k = 4 \\  \\ so \: \:  \:  \: k = 15
