Given : (2/x) + (2/3y) = 1/6    ------ (1)

Given : (3/x) + (2/y) = 0  ------- (2)

Multiply Equation (1) with 6x, we get

⇒ (12x/x) + (12x/3y) = 6x/6

⇒ 12 + (4x/y) = x        ------- (3)

Multiply Equation (2) with 4x, we get

⇒ (12x/x) + (8x/y) = 0

⇒ 12 + (8x/y) = 0    ------- (4)

On solving (3) & (4), we get

⇒ 12 + (4x/y) = x

⇒ 12 + (8x/y) = 0

   --------------------

             -4x/y = x

             -4/y = 1

                 y = -4.

Substitute y = -4 in (3), we get

⇒ 12 + (8x/y) = 0

⇒ 12 + (8x/-4) = 0

⇒ 12 - 2x = 0

⇒ 12 = 2x

⇒ x = 6.

Hence, the values are x = 6 and y = -4.

Now,

⇒ y = ax - 4

⇒ -4 = a(6) - 4

⇒ -4 = 24a - 4

⇒ a = 0.

Therefore, the value of a = 0.

Hope this helps!
