Ans:1/2

Two sets of no. are (1,2,3,4) and (1,4,9,16)

Total no. Of Sample space(no. Of

outcomes) ,n(S) =16 as total 16no. Can

be formed...(I)

Now, 1×1=1, 1×4=4,1×9=9 ,1×16=16

Total 3 nos i.e 1,4,9<(smaller than ) 16...(I)

Again 2×1=2 ,2×4=8 ,2×9=18 and 2×16=32

Total 2 nos. i.e 2and 8 is smaller than 16...(iii)

Again,3×1=3 ,3×4=12, 3×9=27 ,3×16=48

Total 2 nos. i.e 3 and 12 are smaller than 16...(iv)

Again,4×1=4 ,4×4=16 ,4×9=36, 4×16=64

Total 1 no i.e 4 is smaller than 16..(v)

From (ii)(iii)(iv)and (v)

Total 8 nos are there whose products is less than 16.

So,no.of favourable outcomes or no. Of event ,n(E)=8

P(E)=n(E)/n(S)=8/16=1/2.

Hope it helps.

Zaysaa: thank u soo much.
Kkashyap: Ur welcome
