Let the marks of Rituja in Mathematics be m

and the marks of Rituja in English be e

A/Q:-

m+e = 30

e= 30-m......(i)

Now, According to question,

If, Marks in mathematics = 2+m

and marks in English = e-3

then,

(2+m)(e-3) = 210

=2(e-3) +m(e-3) = 210

=2e-6+me-3m = 210

=>2e+me-3m = 216

Putting the value of e from eq(i) we get,

=>2(30-m) + m(30-m) -3m = 216

=>60-2m+30m-m²-3m = 216

=>-m² +25m= 216-60

=>-m²+25m = 156

=>-m² + 25m-156 = 0

=>(-m²+12m)+(13m-156) = 0

=>-m(m-12) +13(m-12) = 0

=>(-m+13)(m-12) = 0

=>-m+13 = 0

=>-m = -13

m = 13 and m-12=0 so, m = 12

So,

We can take either of the values or both of the values, it won't make any difference or anything.

So,

Rutuja's marks in both subjects are 12 and 13
