Let acceleration be a

Let displacement be y

We know that :

a = ω² y

Maximum displacement is called the amplitude .

Let A be the amplitude

Maximum value of a = ω²A

When coin leaves the contact for the first time , it obviously experiences maximum acceleration .

Weight of coin = force = mass × acceleration

                                     = ma

                                     = mω²A

So : mg = mω²A

==> Cancel m both sides to get :

==> g = ω²A

==> A = ω² / g

The amplitude is ω² / g

ANSWER :

OPTION C

Hope it helps !
