Any value whether Positive or Negative inside Modulus function becomes Positive. That is IxI = x and I-xI = x

⇒ the value inside the modulus can be positive or negative but it finally becomes positive.

⇒ here the expression inside the modulus is 7 - 2x

from the definition of modulus function the expression 7 - 2x can be positive or negative.

⇒ I7 - 2xI = 5 and I-(7 - 2x)I = 5

⇒ plus or minus of 7 - 2x is equal to 5

if we consider plus then 7 - 2x = 5 ⇒ x = 1

if consider minus then -(7 - 2x) = 5 ⇒ -7 + 2x = 5 ⇒ x = 6

so the values satisfying the equation I7 - 2xI = 5 are x = 1 and x = 6
