Hey mate!!

The answer is as follows:

The specific heat capacity of the metal - 0.3J g/k.

Heat energy given by the metal = 20×0.3×( 100-22)=468J

Let the mass of the water be x

The heat ebergy released by the calorimeter = x × 0.42 × (22-20) = 0.84x

Heat energy taken by the water = x ×

4.2 × (22-20)=8.4J

Total energy taken by the calorimeter and water = 0.84x + 8.4x=9.24x

Therefore, heat energy given by the metal = total heat energy taken by calorimeter and water.

468 = 9.24x

x=468/9.24

x=50.64g.

Hence the mass of the water is 50.64g.

Hope this helps you.

Explanation:

Calorimetry is the science or act of measuring changes in state variables of a body for the purpose of deriving the heat transfer associated with changes of its state due, for example, to chemical reactions, physical changes, or phase transitions under specified constraints. Calorimetry is performed with a calorimeter.
