area of shaded region=area of rectangle +area of bigger semicircle-area of smaller semicircle

area of rectangle =l×b

we have,

l=34 &b=3.5

=119cm

area of semicircle =1/2pi r^2

r=d/2

we have

d 1=34 &d 2=34-3.5-3.5=27

r1 =34/2=17. &

r2=27/2=13.5

so as we know area of shaded region =

area of rectangle +area of 1st semicircle - area of 2nd semicircle

that is

119+17-13.5 =122.5cm
