Multiply equation (1) with 7 and equation (2) with 11 , we get
77x +35y = 112 .....(3)
77x + 143y = 154 .....(4)
Subtract equation (4) from equation (3) , we get
-108y = - 42
y= 42/108
y= 7/18
Put the value of y=7/18 in equation (1)
11x +5(7/18) =16
11x+35/18 = 16
198x +35 = 288
198x=288-35
198x=253
x=253/198
x= 23/18
