Given 2x - 5y = 2.

On cubing both sides, we get

(2x - 5y)^3 = (2)^3

8x^3 - 125y^3 - 3 * 2x * 5y(2x - 5y) = 8

8x^3 - 125y^3 - 30xy(2) = 8

8x^3 - 125y^3 - 30 * 12 (2) = 8

8x^3 - 125y^3 - 720 = 8

8x^3 - 125y^3 = 720 + 8

8x^3 - 125y^3 = 728.

Hope this helps!
