in parallel combination...
 \frac{1}{3}  +  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{6}  =  \frac{1}{r}
 \frac{2 + 3 + 1}{6}  =  \frac{1}{r}
 \frac{6}{6}  =  \frac{1}{r}
therefore....

r = 1  \: ohm
total resistance (in series combination)now.... .

R=[1+1+1]ohm=3 ohm
