Given

a = 2x - 3 / 3 ; b = 7 - 3x / 4

a - b/ 5 = 1.....(1) (Given)

substitute a,b values in ..(1)

a - b / 5 = 1

cross multiply

a - b = 5

(2x - 3) / 3 - (7 - 3x) / 4 = 5

L.C.M of 4,3 = 4×3 = 12

(4(2x - 3) - 3(7 - 3x) ) / 12 = 5

cross multiply...

(4(2x - 3) - 3(7 - 3x) ) = 5×12

(4(2x - 3) - 3(7 - 3x) ) = 60

(4(2x) - 4(3)) -(3(7) -3(-3x)) = 60

we know that

[+ × - = -] [ - × - = +]

8x - 12 - 21 + 9x = 60

17x -33 = 60

17x = 60 + 33

17x = 93

x = 93/17...
