Hi ,
I used x instead of theta .
we know that ,
trigonometric identity,
sin² x + cos² x = 1 ---( 1 )
sin² x = 1 - cos² x --( 2 )
Now,
i ) 2 - sin² x - cos² x
= 2 - ( sin² x + cos² x )
= 2 - 1 [ from ( 1 ) ]
= 1
ii ) 2 + 1 / sin²x - cos² x/ sin² x
= 2 + [ ( 1 - cos² x ) / sin² x ]
= 2 + [ sin² x / sin² x ]
[ from ( 2 ) ]
= 2 + 1
= 3
