Note: I am writing theta as a.
Given x sina = ycosa ------- (1)
Given x sin^3 a + y cos^3 a = sina cosa ------ (2)
Substitute (1) in (2), we get
= > x sin a * sin^2a + y cos^3 a = sina * cos a
= > y cos a * sin^2 a + y cos^3 a = sina * cos a
= > y cos a(sin^2a + cos^2a) = sina * cosa
= > y cos a(1) = sin a * cos a
= > y = sin a
Substitute y = sin a in (1), we get
= > x sina = (sina)(cosa)
= > x = cos a.
Now,
= > x^2 + y^2 = sin^2a + cos^2a
= 1.
Hope this helps!
