The numerator of a fraction is 4 less than the denominator..If the numerator is decreased by 2 and denominator is increased by 1, then the denominator is 8 times the numerator. The fraction is $\frac{a}{b}$ , FIND $\frac{a+b}{2}$

8(N-2)=D+1. =>8N-D=17. =>8(D-4)-D=17. =>7D=49 =>D=7. & hence N=3.. NOW N+D/2=5
