for what value of 'a' are 2a +1 ,9and 8a-3 consecutive terms of an AP

if they are in ap there common difference is same so we have
9-(2a+1) = 8a-3-9
=) 9-2a-1= 8a-12
=) 8-2a=8a-12
=) -2a-8a = -12-8
=) -10a = -20
=) 10a =20
=)a = 2
