hey mate!!
ur answer is....
a) 40cm^2
as from theorem-the ratio of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides
so,let area of triangle ABC be x
x/90=(2/3)^2
x/90=4/9
9x=360
x=40cm^2....
therefore area of triangle ABC=40cm^2
thxx....hope it helps you!!!!

Answer:

a)\ 40\ $cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

$$The corresponding sides of the similar triangles are in the ratio 2:3. \\ \\ \therefore\ $Their areas should be in the ratio 2^2:3^2 = 4:9. \\ \\ $Let the area of the larger be$\ 9x. \\ \\ 9x = 90 \\ \\ x = \frac{90}{9} = 10 \\ \\ 4x = 4 \times 10 = \bold{40} \\ \\ \\ \therefore\ $The area of the smaller is$\ \bold{40}\ $cm^2$ \\ \\ \\ \therefore\ $Option (a) is the answer. \\ \\ \\
