1) Social Democrats disagreed with Socialist Revolutionaries about peasants. Lenin felt that peasants were not one united group. Some were poor and others rich, some worked as labourers while others were capitalists who employed workers. Given this ‘differentiation’ within them, they could not all be part of a socialist movement.


2) The Socialist Revolutionaries believed that the labour class,peasants and industrial proletariats would be the revolutionary class in Russia . Whereas Russian Socialist Democrats defined class membership in terms of ownership of means of production . 

The Socialist Revolutionaries like Chernov and others defined class membership in terms of extraction of surplus value of labour.
