Construction:

Draw DF║AB║CD (through line AE)

Solution:

In ΔEFC,

∠EAB = ∠EFC  (corresponding angles)

∴ ∠EFC = 50°

Now,

∠ECF + ∠ECD = 180°  (Linear Pair)

=> ∠ECF + 100° = 180°

=> ∠ECF = 180° - 100°

∴ ∠ECF = 80°

In ΔEFC,

∠FEC + ∠EFC + ∠ECF = 180°   (Angle sum property)

=> ∠x + 50° +  100° = 180°

=> ∠x = 180° - 150°

∴ ∠x = 30°

∴ ∠x  = ∠FEC = ∠AEC

∠AEC = 30°
