USA 1. The size of the farm is large.

INDIA 1. here the size of the land is comparatively small.


USA 2. Owner's house is in the farm.

INDIA 2. Owner lives in a main village and travels to the farm every day.

USA 3. The farmer makes sure that soil and water resources meet the needs of the crop.

INDIA 3. Due to inadequate supply of water and fertile soil, farmers have to purchase high yielding variety (HYV) seeds from market every year.

USA 4. The farmer takes the help of technology and sends the soil samples to a soil testing lab to check whether the nutrients are sufficient or not.

INDIA 4. The farmer in India takes advice from his friends and elders as well as government agricultural officers regarding farming.

USA 5. The farmer uses tractors, seed drills, harvester and all kinds of modern agricultural machinery.


INDIA 5. The farmer takes a tractor on rent, and many still rely on traditional bullocks for ploughing the land.

Being a large agricultural based country India has advantage that there are more agricultural lands than the US.

Most of the agricultural farmers in the India are not educated and still relying on the previous methods of farming. While in the US farmers are aware of using the modern technology in their field like the sprinkler irrigation system is more common in US.  which ultimately result in increase yield of products per acre.

The used of agricultural machinery is more in the US , most of the farmers are considered the progressive farmers .

Also,the US farmers are using more yield productive and disease resistance varieties of seeds.
