Electrons have a parabolic path in an electric field because the velocity of the electron in the direction perpendicular to the electric field is constant as there is no force and hence, no acceleration along this direction, but there is an acceleration, constant in direction, in the direction of the electric field(Motion is similar to a projectile under gravity). But in a magnetic field, the force , in addition to being always perpendicular to the electron's motion, continually changes its direction so that the electron does not have any change in speed and therefore it moves in a circular path, like a stone when it is whirled about using a string.

hope this will help
