The summary of the 8th paragraph:

He was very proud and glad when he got the goat-kid ready by combing and brushing it. He didn't know what other people with gift someone. Maybe others gift people things like oranges, toys, nuts etc. But unlike him, no one give something that is alive, small and beautiful.

The summary of the 9th paragraph:

He tied a clean thread around the goat-kid's neck when it was ready. Every Christmas Eve he would go and visit one of his aunt who had a small grocery shop in the town. She would send him a box of dates for his father and a box of chocolates for his mother. She also gifted him a present every time. As the goat-kid was very light to carry, he had no trouble carrying it in his hand.
