12years ago father was 6 times as old as his son and 10 years hence he will be thrice as old as his son . Find their ages

age of son = x yrs.
age of father = 6x yrs.

therefore ,
present age of son = x+12 yrs.
present age of father = 6x+12 yrs

Also,
10 years later,
age of son will be =x+12+10 =x+22
age of father will be =6x+12+10 =6x+22
therefore, A/Q
3 (x+22) = 6x+22
3x + 66 = 6x+22
3x-6x =22-66
-3x= -44
x= 14 years 2months
