When you draw FBD for block of mass “m” you’ll find
Force acting upwards is 2mg
Force acting downwards is mg
Acceleration = F_net / m = (2mg - mg)/m = g
For right one
Draw FBD
For block of mass “2m”
2mg - T = 2ma ——(1)
For block of mass “m”
T - mg = ma ——-(2)
Add equations (1) and (2)
mg = 3ma
a = g/3
Difference in acceleration = g - g/3 = 2g/3
