Answer :-

Given:-

• Rainfall in City A =  3 \dfrac{3}{5} \: cm

• Rainfall in City B =  3 \dfrac{5}{8} \: cm

• Rainfall in City C =  3 \dfrac{4}{7} \: cm

Now we have to find out the least

rainfall

For it we must find LCM of all

denominators

Denominators :-

5 , 8 , 7

♦ Now by prime factorization

5 = 5 × 1

8 = 2 × 2 × 2

7 = 7 × 1

♦ Then LCM

= 5 × 7 × 8

= 280

♦ Now we will Simplify the fractions

City A >>  3 \dfrac{3}{5} \: cm =   \dfrac{18 }{5} \: cm

City B >>  3 \dfrac{5}{8} \: cm =   \dfrac{29}{8} \: cm

City C >>  3 \dfrac{4}{7} \: cm =   \dfrac{25}{7} \: cm

♦ Now we will find least among them

by making denominators equal

City A >>   \dfrac{18 }{5} \: cm =   \dfrac{1008 }{280} \: cm

City B >>   \dfrac{29}{8} \: cm =   \dfrac{1015}{280} \: cm

City C >>   \dfrac{25}{7} \: cm =  \dfrac{1000}{280} \: cm

♦ So from above we can clearly see that City C received least rainfall

So Answer >> City C
