⠀⠀

\sf \longrightarrow \: as \: the \: frnge \: width  \: \beta  \:  =  \frac{d}{d}

⠀⠀

  • Where ¢ is the wave length of the light D is separation between the screen and the slits. D is the the sepration Between the slits.

⠀⠀

\sf \longrightarrow \beta  \:  \infty   \: \frac{1}{d}

⠀⠀

\sf    \: \therefore \:  \frac{ \beta }{ \beta }  =  \frac{d}{d}

\sf \longrightarrow \frac{ \beta }{3}

  \underline{ \underline{\huge   \pink{\mathbb{ANSWER}}}}

Given :

  • The Distance between slits is 3

Let the new fringes width β

so,

  \bold{so \:  \: \beta ' =  \frac{ \gamma d}{3d}  =  \frac{1}{3}  \beta } \\

Therefore fringe width also became ⅓ times.
