Given:

 \frac{1500}{x+250} - \frac{1500}{x} = -30

1500x - 1500(x+250) = -30x(x + 250)

1500x - 1500x - 375000 = -30x^2 - 7500x

-375000=-30x^2-7500x

-30x^2-7500x+375000 = 0

It is in the form of ax^2 + bx + c = 0.

a = -30, b = -7500, c = 375000.

Now,

(1)

x =  \frac{-b +  \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} }{2a}

 \frac{-(-7500)+ \sqrt{(-7500)^2 - 4(-30)(375000)} }{2(-30)}

- \frac{7500 +  \sqrt{101250000}}{60}

(2)

 x = \frac{-b- \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} }{2a}

- \frac{(-7500) \sqrt{(-7500)^2 - 4(-30)(375000} }{2(-30)}

 \frac{7500 -  \sqrt{101250000} }{60}

Hope this helps!
