Here the speed of boat is x

the speed of stream be y.

When boat goes upstream x-y and downstream x+y

time = distance / speed

Here. upstream time be t1 and downstream be t2 and total time is 6h.

24/ x-y + 28/ x+y = 6 h eq 1

and 30/x-y + 21/x+ y = 13/2. eq 2.

On taking 1/ x-y = p and 1/ x+y = q

24p +28 q =6

30p+ 21q = 13/2.

on Multiply eq 1 by 5 and eq 2 by 4

and solving this we get , 56 q= 8/2

and q = 1/14

on putting on this eq we get, p =1/6

On solving this we get , x = 10 km/h and y = 4km/hr.
