\large\underline{\underline{\red{\sf Nutrition\:in\: Amoeba :-}}}

Amoeba is a unicellular oraganism and thus there are no specific organs to perform different functions it does not possess a definite shape. Nutrition in amoeba takes place in following manner :-

\underline{\purple{\sf Ingestion :-  }}

Intake of food in amoeba occurs by temporary finger like extensions of the cell surface called pseudopodia which fuse over the food particles forming a food vacuole.

\underline{\purple{\sf Digestion:-  }}

Inside the food vacuole complex substances are broken down into simpler ones . This is called intracellular digestion . (digestion within the cell.)

\underline{\purple{\sf Absorbtion :-  }}

Digested food then diffuses into the cytoplasm of amoeba.

\underline{\purple{\sf  Assimilation:-}}

The absorbed food is utilised to meet the energy requirements of Amoeba .

\underline{\purple{\sf Egestion:- }}

The remaining and digested material is moved to the surface and thrown out of the cell.

Types of Nutrition :-

\large\underline{\underline{\pink{\tt Autotrophic\:Nutition :-}}}

It is a characteristic of plants and algae which prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis. It is the process by which plant cells containing chlorophyll produce carbohydrates like glucose from carbon dioxide and water by using light energy .

\large\underline{\underline{\pink{\tt Heterotrophic\:Nutition :-}}}

it is a kind of nutrition in which organisms derive Energy from intake and digestion of the organic substances prepared by autotrophs and other organic sources . It is of four types :-

\sf \green{Holozoic \: Nutrition}

\sf \green{Saprophytic \: Nutrition}

\sf \green{Parasitic \: Nutrition}
