Total resistance = 18/9 = 2 ohm.
Ammemeter reading = 2/2 = 1 ampere

MihirDabhi: as upper two resistance are in series total resistance in upper section becomes 6 ohm. upper and lower section are connected in parallel so applying parallel law of resistance addition, answer is 2 ohm total resistance. Ammemeter reads current flowing in the circuit and according to ohms law v=ir and so I = v/r which gives value of current to be 1 ohm.
