direction ratios joining points A and B is
<4,8,-8>
I.e., <1,2,-2>
now √1+(2)^2+(-2)^2
√1+4+4
√9
3
thus the direction cosines are
<1/3,2/3,-2/3>

Directional ratios (dr) of  line through  A(x1,y1,z1) and B(x2,y2,z2) is

±(x2-x1,y2-y1,z2-z1)

where as directional cosines(dc) are directional ratios with magnitude as 1.

According to problem; dr is ±(4-0,8-0,-8-0) = ±(4,8,-8)

while dc is ±(4,8,-8)/[√(4²+8²+(-8)²)] = ±(1/3,2/3,-2/3)
