Explanation:
Why do some plants feed on insects? How does a pitcher plant catch insects?
These plants grow in soil that lack the nutrients needed for growth (usually a swampy or boggy area) and so they obtain the necessary nutrients from decomposing insects.
Most of theses plants have an attractant chemical that is either sweet, smells like flowers, smells like decomposing flesh, is sticky or a combination of these.
Pitcher plants, for instance, have a bowl-like “flower” that collects moisture from rain and dew and the insects fall in, drown and decompose. The lining of the bowl has hair-like protuberances that prevent the insect from climbing out.

How do rhizobium bacteria and leguminous plants help each other in survival?
Rhizobium converts atmospheric nitrogen into the soluble form , which can be then taken in by the leguminous plants. However since Rhizobium cannot prepare their own food , it establishes in the roots of the plant and provide them with nutrients. Plants in turn provide it with food and shelter. Thus there exists a symbiotic relationship between the Rhizobium and leguminous plants.
