 {2}^{x }  =  {4}^{y}  =  {8}^{z}

 {2}^{x}  =  {2}^{2y}  =  {2}^{3z}

So, x = 2y = 3z (since all bases are same)

=> y = x/2 and z = x/3

Also, we get, 4 y = 4(x/2) = 2x.

Now, 1/2x + 1/4y + 1/4z = 4

=> 1/2x + 1/2x + 1/4x/3 = 4

=> 1/2x + 1/2x + 3/4x = 4

=> (2+2+3 / 4x) = 4

=> 7/4x = 4

=> 7 = 16 x

=> x = 7/16.
