the given equations are :--

2x + 3y -7 = 0 ................................... (i).

& ...

2ax + (a+b) y - 28 = 0 .................................... (ii).

here ; a1 = 2 b1 = 3 c1 = -7

& a2 = 2a b2= (a+b) c2= -28.

now , as we know that for having infinite number of solutions,

a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2

then,

2/a = 3/(a+b) = -7/ -28.

now , 2/a = 1/4

therefore, a = 8.............

& again ,

3/(8+b) = 1/4

therefore ; b= 4

hence the required value of a and b are 8 & 4.
