Given:
PQ is a Chord Of bigger circle and it is Tangent to The Smaller Circle.
Radius of Smaller Circle=3cm
Chord PQ=8cm


Let The Chord PQ Meet The smaller Circle at M

Now MP=QM=4cm.

Since M Would Be the Midpoint As it is a Tangent to Smaller Circle And Is also a Chord of Bigger Circle.

Now OM(Radius of Smaller Circle)=3cm


Join OP.

We get a Right angle Triangle OPM Right angled at M.(Since M is the Meeting Point of Tangent PQ with the Radius)


So By RHS,

OP²=PM²+OM²
OP²=3²+4²
→OP²=9+16=25
So OP=√25=5cm

Hence Radius of Larger Circle is 5cm.
