let...6 years before the ages of Salma and David were=X and 2x...(where X>0)

therefore the present ages are=(X+6)and (2x+6)

and the ages after 6 years from the present are

=(X+12)and(2x+12)

now according to the Question...

 \frac{x + 12}{2x + 12} = \frac{3}{4} \\ = > 4x + 48 = 6x + 36 \\ = > 2x = 12 \\ = > x = 6

therefore the present age of Salma=12years

and present age of sabir=2(6)+6=18years
