Pocket expenses of a class in a college are shown in the following frequency distribution:
Pocket expenses No of students
0-200 33
200-400 74
400-600 170
600-800 88
800-1000 76
1000-1200 44
1200-1400 25
Then the median for the above data is:

1.485.07
2 .486.01
3.487.06
4.489.03

Hola mate

Here is your answer -

(0-200) = (0+200) = 200 = (200÷2) = 100

(200-400) = (200+400) = 600 = ( 600÷2) = 300

(400-600) = (400+600) = 1000 = ( 1000÷2) = 500

(600-800) = (600+800) = 1400 = ( 1400÷2) = 700

(800-1000) = (800+1000) = 1800 = (1800÷2) = 900

(1000-1200) = (1000+1200) = 2200 = (2200÷2) = 1100

(1200-1400) = (1200+1400) = 2600 = (2600÷2) = 1300

So the medians are 100, 300, 500, 700, 900, 1100, 1300.

medians no. of the students the multiplication of median and std's no.

100 33 3300

300 74 2220

500 170 85000

700 88 61600

900 76 68400

1100 44 48400

1300 25 32500

➡sum of the student's no. = 510

➡sum of the median which we got after multipication = 301,400

➡So, the mean is = (301,400 ÷ 510)

= 590.98

Hope this helps you!
