Aristotle claimed that courage is a key virtue and that we should habitually seek it. That means we must act courageously even when we don't want to or are scared (see above). People who don't habitually act with courage fall on the cowardly side of the Golden Mean. This isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself.
