The poem is talking about the glimpses and scenery which we see while sitting in a railway carriage.
the carriage keeps moving ahead rapidly till it reaches a destination.during this time all the scenery just come by and go due to the trains fast motion.hence the poet says that all these scenes,beauty etc are gone forever.it means that they have gone past and the poet wouldnt be able to see them now because the train is moving ahead and other beautiful pictures can be seen.however the poet is sad because he wants to spend more time enjoying each glimpse of the nature
