Sir Mokshagundam Visweswarayya was a great engineer. In his memory we celebrate Engineer's day. A small tribute to his contribution to India, is this poem:
Viswa, a brilliant Andhra Telugu Brahmin,
Did good to Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, a True Indian,
He became a scholar, statesman and Diwan
And a Great manager with a sincere dedication,
Hyderabad Flood Protection system design,
Showered Celebrity status on him.
Was a remarkable and intelligent
engineer,
Brought hope and smile on many a farmer,
Innovations in building irrigation reservoir,
Concept to reality the KRS Dam On Kaveri River
Designing many water works projects,
Commissioning many railway lines,
Founding an engineering institution,
Everything was in his capability domain!
Father of Modern Mysore State,
Knighted by British, became a new MV Sir,
Awarded Bharat Ratna, Worth Nothing Lesser !
Visweswarayya Museum with many

Visit to see Great Science and Engineering Marvels,
As Engineers Day on 15th Sep. India commemorates!
