Teacher’s day is celebrated each year on the fifth of September to venerate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was India’s 1st Vice President and India’s 2nd President and an educationist at heart. While internationally, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the fifth of October; in India, it has been celebrated the fifth September since 1962 onwards.

My Teacher,

You taught me and guided me

You encouraged me and inspired me,  

And you drove me to do my best.

I came into your class

To learn and grow,  

But what has heartened me the most

Is the unconditional love that you have shown.

To reaching deep within me  

And discovering me before I could see myself,
