Water, Sweet Water

Pick, Pock ,a sudden knock

The sound the tap often makes;

When water is scarce

When the empty bucket stares

For a coveted water drop.

I turn in bed

I cry in pain

As my throat turns parch and dry;

Not a drop  

To cool my head

Or take a luxuriant bath.

Water, water please come back

Life oozes out without you.

Pick pock patter tap

Be as noisy as can be;

I have learnt it hard

I have learnt it true,

I will never ever complaint against you.

Poem on "Thoughts I had when there was no water supply for a day at home​..."

Is it just ‘A day without water’,

Or will there come many more where all we do is to cry a river!

Letting the water get wasted just like that, for no good purpose,  

Is it because of it - not having any odour, color, taste that attracts?

Running forward faster and smoother in the name of technology tint,

Will the same can create the water, once the usable water becomes extinct?

Is it so difficult to leave some land itself free, letting water sink in?

Or to opt for the water preservation techniques, Welcoming all of them in!

Costs a lot maybe, but you can’t drink money to fill your thirst, dear,

Preserve, protect, care, and use wisely, else get ready to face each of your fear.

Don’t blame others, when you yourself aren’t an angel,

Remember, Change always starts with one person. If not, ready to face the fatal.
