Heat is very friendly - it likes to move, transfer and travel. It does this by three main mechanisms: conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact between different objects or substances.

There are three modes or medium to transfer of heat which are as follow :
- Conduction
- Convection
- Radiation
Conduction: The mode of transfer of heat from in solid matter is known as conduction. In this mode of transfer of heat ,when a molecule of a the solid is got heated then the molecule is started shaking and the other molecule is affected from it and it also shake after sometime the whole molecule of the object is shaking and hence the temperature increases and the object became hot.
Conversation: It is the mode of transfer of heat in the gaseous and liquid form. In this mode of transfer of heat, the molecule of liquid and gaseous get heated and move upwards, the molecule which is cool move downward and and then after it also become hot and move upwards the process of moving upwards and downwards of the molecule in solid and liquid state is termed as convection current .
Radiation: The mode of transfer of heat in which no any medium required. It can even transfer the heat in a vacuum
