The sky is brighter today

The sky is brighter today
Than all other days;
Never did I see this
In all the previous years.
What new has it shown to me?
Someone may ask,
When the air is fresh
Even when it is dusk.
Answer must I give
With the joys of life,
That has been there before
As a bond so ripe!
There is newness in leaves
So fresh and so green
That one may mistake it
So white as moonshine!
There was a tree in the midst of the ground
And there still it stands
With fruits more red
Than it ever was.
There is a shower of blessings
From new and old.
There is richeness
In mud and gold!
It is new, it is newer
And it is the newest for sure.
But the old never dies
Because it stays in the new a-pure!
