lakshmibai , the rani of jhansi ,born as manikarnika,was the queen of maratha - ruled jhansi state,aituated in north central part of india. manikarnika qas married to maharaja of jhansi raja gangadhar rao newalkar ,in may 1842 was afterward called laxmibai . she gave birth to a boy named damodar rao.afterwards gangadhar rao was assessinated by the britishers and laxmibai along with her baby boy fought with rhem for freedom of india.
