Answer : When one day it was cut down to widen the track and its root, trunk and branches were sent to the saw mill, the speaker was filled with sorrow. And he wants to convey that the tree was now so huge that it need more space when it will fall down because forty years is a large time and an small axe chopped it down for four hours.
